This policy explains how bearpointfdn.org handles visitor information. It is effective June 13, 2026. By using this site you accept the practices described below. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site or submit information through it.
Who We Are
Bearpoint Foundation is a Washington nonprofit corporation (UBI 606 154 834, EIN 41-5180172), 501(c)(3) status pending, based in Yelm, Washington. We publish research and resources for families and advocates working civil-rights cases. You can reach us at info@bearpointfdn.org about anything in this policy.
What We Collect
We keep collection deliberately narrow. The only personal information we gather is what you choose to send us. Specifically:
- Contact form data you voluntarily submit: your name, email address, subject line, and message.
- Standard server and edge request logs handled by our host, Cloudflare. These include your IP address, browser user agent, and request timestamps, kept for security and abuse prevention.
- A Cloudflare Turnstile challenge token, generated when you submit the contact form, used only to confirm you are a person and not a bot.
That is the full list. We run no account system, set no advertising cookies, use no third-party analytics, embed no tracking pixels, and sell to no data brokers. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not follow you across other sites.
How We Use It
We use the information you send for exactly two purposes: to read and respond to your message, and to keep the site secure against spam and abuse. That is it. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information for marketing, and we do not hand it to third parties except where we are legally required to (for example, a valid court order) or where it is a necessary part of delivering your message to us, as described next.
Cloudflare and Email Routing
The site runs on Cloudflare's network. When you submit the contact form, your message is delivered to a foundation inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing. Your email address is set as the Reply-To on that message so we can write back to you directly. The anti-bot check on the form is Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused alternative to traditional captchas. Because Cloudflare processes this traffic on our behalf, their handling is governed by their own terms. You can read the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for details on how they treat request data.
Google Fonts
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google may receive request metadata such as your IP address and the page you are viewing. We do not control that exchange. If you want to understand what Google does with it, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Local Caching and Service Worker
The site uses a service worker to cache pages on your own device. This lets you read our resource guides offline, which matters for families on intermittent or rural connections. That cached data lives entirely on your device. It is never sent back to us and we cannot see it. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Data Retention
We keep contact emails as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and for ordinary recordkeeping. We do not hold messages indefinitely for no reason. If you want us to delete an email you sent us, ask and we will.
Your Rights
If you submitted personal information to us, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. This applies to Washington residents and to anyone else who reaches out. Email info@bearpointfdn.org with your request and we will honor any reasonable one. Because we collect so little, these requests are usually quick to resolve.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@bearpointfdn.org and we will remove it.
Security
We rely on Cloudflare's encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls to protect information in transit and at rest. We take reasonable steps to keep your data safe, but no method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, the effective date at the top will change, and any material change will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
